Build a School | Leave a Legacy
Having taught young children for many years, Phyllis understood the critical importance of eductaion. Her dream was to build a school in the developing world and leave a lasting legacy. Where and how presented daunting obstacles.
On Memorial Day of 2008, what had been a quixotic dream became an attainable goal. That day, Oprah introduced a charity called ‘Free The Children’. What Phyllis saw was a group of American teens in Africa building a brick school house from the foundation up.
Free The Children inspires young people to become socially conscious global citizens by involving them in activities that free children from poverty and exploitation in the developing world. In turn, becoming activists frees these
children from the notion that they are powerless to create positive change in the world. In the words of Free The Children’s founder, Craig Kielburger, they are “the generation we’ve been waiting for”.
For Love Quotes, finding Free The Children presented the opportunity to build not just one school but countless schools, in the most far flung communities.
In its first decade, Free The Children has attracted over 1,000,000 young volunteers and has become the largest charity of its kind: kids freeing kids through education.
With your generous hearts, we can make this world a better paradise one school at a time.
