Having taught young children for many years, Phyllis understood the critical importance of eductaion. Her dream was to build a school in the developing world and leave a lasting legacy. Where and how presented daunting obstacles.

On Memorial Day of 2008, what had been a quixotic dream became an attainable goal. That day, Oprah introduced a charity called ‘Free The Children’. What Phyllis saw was a group of American teens in Africa building a brick school house from the foundation up.
